Hi Susan, if you have a corporate Amex in a company name, then you are eligible to apply as an individual for this card and get the bonus. But if you have a small business Amex card (which would be in your personal name) then you’re not eligible for this bonus.

Would the bonus apply to us if we apply for the platinum or do you have to be a complete new customer?

Hi Daniel, it’s called the International Airline Program. Depending on the fare type, you can get a discount with a range of airlines, which Amex’s website states are: American Airlines, Air New Zealand, Air Canada, British Airways, Delta Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Emirates, Hawaiian Airlines, Japan Airlines, LAN Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas Airways, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, South African Airways, United Airlines and Virgin Australia. I’m pretty sure you can book via the Amex Travel website as well as via the Platinum Travel team at Amex.

Hi James, the last we heard DJ Amex cardholders were still eligible for bonus points – but it’s best if you call Amex on the number on the back of your DJ card to check.

It used to not count but have no recent experience here.

If she has a Velocity Amex card as the main account holder, she’s not eligible for a sign-up bonus.
