In reply to Pam. Hi Pam, this comes up all the time with people in your situation. Unfortunately most card issuers are quite strict with income criteria. I've heard of retirees who were successful with card applications where they had regular income from investments - but they still had to meet the minimum income stated.

Hi. Do any of these great credit card offers ever work for those of us recently retiree? When the income pa has changed? But we own homes, cars, everything, have money in the bank, travel constantly, etc. Seems a little discriminatory as we may very likely pay our bills easier than those on the aforementioned income! Hi Sarah, I’m not sure. You must be Australian citizen or permanent resident or hold a long term visa – but as for whether you need to be currently living in Australia, it’s best you check with Amex directly.
